Tatting

This year, I decided to learn something that prior I had not even heard of – Tatting. This all came about when my mom sent me a curious package containing a tatting shuttle (red below) and a book from even before my day. At first, my hands were very much all thumbs, and I created nothing more than a small pile of knotted thread. But now, three months in, I have learned the basics, and I can actually have a conversation at the same time as working on these tiny stitches. Here are some of my earliest attempts that didn’t end up in the compost bin (it’s all cotton).
